We are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Breathe Deep for CF event in Ridgewood, NJ!

Take a Deep Breath and Appreciate Your Lungs. Then  …

Come downtown to the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ridgewood, NJ on December 8th, for drinks, food, socializing, and to support a great cause.  All proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation and help those afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) live longer, stronger lives.  

Brian Callanan, of Ridgewood, NJ, is the Founder and Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation (CFLF).  He was diagnosed at birth with Cystic Fibrosis  and was expected to live only to age 8. Now, he’s 36 and healthier than ever!  Instead of surrendering to the illness, he embraced it—hiking, biking, and sailing his way to amazing lung scores and an impressive, ever-improving projected lifespan. Help him to help others achieve the same.

CF is one of the most common life-shortening hereditary diseases. It is a progressive, degenerative disease with no known cure. Most individuals with CF die young, many in their 20’s and 30’s from lung failure.  Recent advances are enabling a whole new population of adults with CF, who must become responsible for their own survival.

To date, over 200 people with CF have been awarded over $130,000 in direct financial assistance through CFLF Recreation Grants. Come help raise the funds to improve the lives of hundreds more!

Support and inspire people living with CF to survive and thrive despite their life-long challenge. The CFLF Recreation Grants help directly fund gym memberships, skiing/snowboarding lessons, horseback riding, gymnastics, and tons of other activities for people living with CF, offering them fun and free ways to improve their health and self-confidence through physical activity. While healthy individuals often participate in physical recreation “just for fun”, for these individuals with CF, it can be the difference between life and death.

Your cost? $20 for adults and $10 for kids. The reward? A fun night out, and, most importantly, the knowledge that you’re helping individuals live longer, stronger, more enjoyable lives.  

It is our hope that you will leave knowing more about the challenges of life with CF, and that you have contributed to a better quality of life for those who live with the disease.
